Following the huge success from last year’s event in California, the Kapuso abroad can once again get the chance to see their idols perform live in key cities in the US and Canada.

Alden Richards, who was the most requested artist in the Kapuso concert last year, returns on GMA TV’s Sikat Ka, Kapuso! stage together with Dennis Trillo, Jennylyn, Lovi Poe, Dingdong Dantes and Betong Sumaya.

Dennis feels fortunate to once again be part of a group of Kapuso stars headlining the concert happening in two of North America’s major cities.

According to the actor, it’s his second time to entertain Filipinos based abroad, and he considers it a rare opportunity to give them a slice of home through music and production numbers.

“For sure, some of them feel homesick. It’s nice that once in a while we get to interact with them because there are people who can’t come home. It’s like giving them something that they’ve been missing for a long time,” Dennis told Manila Standard in an interview.

At the concert, the Kapuso actor will have a duet with Jennylyn, who like him, was part of the contingent that performed in California last year.

“Worth it ang pagod seeing the audience enjoy the show. Imagine, our schedule is going to be tight. From New Jersey we’ll go to Toronto, then there will be presscons before the show and meet and greet events after the concert. But all these are nothing when you see our kababayans enjoying the show we put up for them,” Jennylyn shared.

Alden Richards is performing for Kapuso fans in New Jersey and Toronto for the second edition of  GMA TV’s 'Sikat Ka, Kapuso!'

She added that she and Lovi have prepared a sing and dance production number specially choreographed for their fans abroad.

“It’s going to be a big show. We are a bigger group this time. Most of all, there will be audience interaction, which is the main reason why we are staging the show – to reach out to our kababayan who terribly miss home,” she said.

Agreeing to what Jennylyn said, Lovi reflect on the dynamics of performing for Filipino audience overseas.

“We are known for being warm people, it’s nice that we get to experience Filipino hospitality in a different country. That’s what I’m really looking forward to, I’m excited to interact with our fellow Filipinos and share some stories with them,” Lovi noted.

The star-studded event will see the Kapuso stars perform live on April 7 at the Newark Symphony Hall in New Jersey, USA and on April 8 at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, Canada.

“We are definitely doing this for our kababayans. We are equally excited if not more excited especially for me being the new addition to the lineup of stars performing. Through music and our show, we kind of bring Philippines closer to them. And that’s already really something that makes me feel proud being part of this concert,” Dingdong shared with us.

Sikat Ka, Kapuso! is a GMA-produced event which aims to bring Filipinos abroad closer to home via its international channels GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV International..
