Despite their respective busy work schedule, Jerome Ponce says his relationship with former DLSU volleyball star Mika Reyes remains strong.
“Time never became an issue for us. Unlike with other couples, who point out lack of moments of togetherness as the main hindrance to their relationship, Mika and I understand the demands of our job so we adjust,” Jerome says.
The Kapamilya star believes that there’s always a way if a person truly wants to meet his partner.
“You’ll find time no matter how busy you are. You won’t have reasons not to see each other even if you’re tired. Anyway, it’s better to spend time with your loved one than rest, right?”
Maturity plays a vital role why their relationship clicks.
“We understand each other’s situation. Even in facing problems, we think of the most logical explanation right away to avoid further complications. Like when it comes to our work schedule, we just explain to each other and presto! We settle things immediately especially if it’s simple by nature.
“In that way, the more we appreciate each other. No further questions asked. On my part, I understand all about her sport…her strict training, what she does when she’s into the game. On her end, she listens to me with all enthusiasm when I have stories on a new script or a challenging sequence I just finished. She knows that I get sad if I wasn’t able to give my 100 percent in a scene. I’m so proud that she understands my work!”
With their hectic schedule, how do they spend time together?
“We make the most of the time when we’re given the chance to be together. Like I watch her games or we go out on a movie date. That’s simple but we cherish it deeply.”
The young actor who is a The Good Son mainstay describes Mika as very understanding.
“Perhaps, people see her as a toughie especially when she’s inside the court. But as a girlfriend, she’s tops! As I’ve said, there’s nothing she won’t understand,” ends Jerome.

Jasmine Curtis-Smith’s love life is doing very well at present. Her relationship with beau Jeff Ortega is smooth-sailing.
“Honestly, I can’t ask for anything more. I draw strength from him. He gives me inspiration whenever I go through difficult moments. Apart from being my love, he’s my best friend, too,” she says.
They’ve been together for two years already.
“That’s right! So far, so good. We’re very happy.”
Considering this, some quarters ask if wedding bells are in the offing.
“Not yet! That’s one thing that’s still far from our minds. It will take some more time. We’re not hurrying anyway.”
The actress wants to concentrate first on her showbiz career. She always makes it clear that it’s on top of my priorities.
“I want to achieve my goals in the industry first. I want to save and save while the iron is still hot, so to speak. I’ll make my bank account fat first,” she quips.
It is good Jeff understands her stand.
“We have our respective work to attend to. I’m acting, he’s doing businesses. I guess we’ll reach that eventually—when the time is already right for the both of us,” Jasmine states.
