Many of his fans are asking when will John Lloyd Cruz star in another soap opera?

He was seen last in A Beautiful Affair opposite Bea Alonzo in 2013. At present, he is only seen in the weekly sitcom Home Sweetie Home  with Toni Gonzaga. He is also seen in some guest appearancess, prodding his supporters to think that he doesn’t like to do soaps anymore.

“That’s not true,” says Lloydie. “It’s not that I don’t like to do one. Perhaps, I’m just waiting for the right project.”

The award-winning actor points out that even if this were the case, he was still productive during those times that he wasn’t active with soap operas.

“If you’d notice, in the last three or four years, I was able to make more films, which is not bad, right? At least, I was still busy and visible in another medium.”

For John Lloyd, it still all depends on his mother network.

“Actually, they’re the ones who decide when it comes to the projects I’ll do on the small screen. I work for them, they call the shots. I don’t own the company, I’m just a talent. It’s as simple as that.”

Some quarters suggest that for his comeback soap, it must be with Sarah Geronimo, for a change.

“Well, why not? I like the idea. Sarah and I have great chemistry as well. The storyline though is a foremost consideration for me. I’m sure there will be an interesting material for us,” ends Lloydie.

According to Toni Gonzaga, she can relate better now to her character in the popular sitcom Home Sweetie Home after becoming a homemaker herself.

“So much has changed in my life,” she avers. “Before, I sleep a lot when I don’t have any showbiz commitment like tapings or shootings. But now, I don’t have deep sleep anymore, especially after giving birth to Seve who is already four months old. I breastfeed my child so it’s really not that easy.

“I find it hard to leave the house on days when the location of the taping is so far. I always think of Seve. So, what I do when I’m on the set is pump milk, put it in a bottle and send it home. I don’t want to deprive my son just because I’m at work. I guess, that’s maternal instinct.”

At this stage in her life, she became more appreciative of mothers.

“Oh, yes! As a mom myself, I realized how strong women really are. Just imagine—to carry a life for nine months, conceive and take care of it eventually. It’s so touching to think. Now, I have so much love and respect to every single mother out there. What moms go through is simply different!”

With her current stature, the actress-host-singer admitted that she sees life in a different light now.

“I can say that it has a different meaning now, deeper I suppose. Before, I couldn’t really understand the meaning of the words, ‘I’d die for you!’ but now, I do,” Toni states.
