People…are talking about

Die Beautiful

Jun Robles Lana’s approach to making this film different from the way studio films are made is to write and direct it with an underlying mission to share a fascinating story with the audience. As a result, Die Beautiful continues to win the hearts of moviegoers and critics alike. A year since it premiered at the 29th Tokyo International Film Festival, and many awards along the way, Lana’s opus again dominated an award show, this time staged by the Film Academy of the Philippines.

Bela Padilla

From starring in films and TV series, Bela has added another feather on her cap as a scriptwriter. She is behind the Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga reunion film, Last Night. It’s her third script after Luck At First Sight and 10,000 Hours. Obviously, she is enjoying her new career behind the camera. Not only she has proven that she has other talents besides acting; she also busted another stereotype that pretty faces are only good before the camera.

Bayani Agbayani

Did you know he was previously appointed as board member at MTRCB? In a recent interview, the comedian said that he declined the offer because he couldn’t serve two masters at the same time and he didn’t want to get paid with people’s taxes yet unable to dedicate his time to fulfill the job. That’s actually his conscience talking right there. We only wish we had more Bayani Agabayanis in showbiz, you know, people who know the difference between greed and working hard.

Woke Up Like This

Sometimes it is hard to keep your expectations high especially when it’s very obvious that even the most trusted movie critics are being paid to embellish their movie reviews with absolute lies. But don’t take our word for it. Go out and watch the film to know what we are talking about. Just keep in mind though that you have been warned. We didn’t say that this film is one of the worst films of this year and we didn’t say that it’s corny, too.

Jake Zyrus

It’s so unfortunate that his struggle as a transman was aired the same time most viewers were watching and cheering for Gilas Pilipina’s dribbling for a gold medal at SEA Games. Nonetheless, Twitter was there to generate some buzz on how Jake put her mother on a very bad light. It’s just sad to see how this kind of story unfolds before our eyes. No, it’s not about Jake’s crumbling career but a family being destroyed in favor of ratings. We don’t think it’s worth it.

Alyas Robin Hood

Do folks at GMA Network even learn their lessons? Apparently, they like committing the same mistakes twice. We don’t understand why they had to come up with a second season when it was already showing poor ratings performance the first time it aired on primetime. And it’s like déjà vu, Alyas Robin Hood is eating the dusts of its competition.
