Julie Anne San Jose’s diamond album

THE home-grown GMA star/singer who started as one of the Pops Star Kids is now in the league with Eraserheads, Jose Marie Chan and Freddie Aguilar whose albums have become diamond after extraordinary album sales.

A diamond is 10 times platinum and even Martin Nievera and Regine Velasquez have yet to achieve that.

Julie Anne did although comparing it the platinum awards some artists got years earlier is not possible as sales of CDs nowadays are much lower than maybe 20 years ago.

Julie Anne’s eponymous debut album for GMA Records was released in August 2012 and every month there has always a report on which CD reaches the platinum status. While it took her another two years to finally get the diamond award, this is still an achievement in the era of iTunes and pirated CD’s. Her follow up album Deeper has already reached platinum, in time for her first major concert before the end of the year.
