Edu likes Angel for son

EDU Manzano has only good words for son Luis’ current flame Angel Locsin.

“She’s admirable!” he says. “I’m hats-off to her dedication in serving and taking care of her dad. Angel is really something else!”

Obviously, the TV host-actor very much approves of Angel for Luis.

“Oh yes! I won’t be surprised if one of these days, Luis will ask her to marry him. Actually, it will surprise me the most if he won’t propose.”

Through the years, Luis has been able to carve his own niche’ in the ‘biz, not totally depending on the strength of his name or Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto.

“I know! That’s why I’m so happy for him. I’m proud of his achievements both in his professional and personal life. Personally, if there is one aspect in his life which he needs to contemplate on deeply, I think, it is entering politics someday,” Doods avers.

Luis had the chance to work with his mom in the hit tearjerker In My Life along with John Lloyd Cruz. Many ask if there’s a possibility for the three of them to appear in one potboiler.

“Actually, we had an offer before, only it didn’t push through. If ever, I want a project in which the story revolves around us. That I think is more fun and exciting to do.  I’m sure Vilma and I won’t mind playing support to Luis just in case.

“When it comes to the genre of the film, I prefer something light, like a romantic comedy. I don’t think drama suits us. Comedy is better.”

Meanwhile, the articulate actor-host is happy about his inclusion in the TV5 show Face the People where he shares the frame with Gelli de Belen and Tintin Bersola-Babao.

“Being in the program is a challenge since I want to deliver instant help to our case persons as much as possible. Sometimes, their problems are basic by nature but sadly, help is far-fetched. Through this program, I want to help, in my own little way, a sort of paying it forward,” ends Edu.

It’s confirmed that Judy Ann Santos has already given her nod to do the movie T’yanak to be directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes. The project is intended for the Horror Film Festival under the Film Development Council of the Philippines.

According to reports, Juday is joined by Tom Rodriguez, Solenn Heussaff and Sid Lucero in the promising scream flick. In fact, they’ve already done script-reading for it.

This is indeed great news for avid fans of the young superstar who already miss seeing her on the silver screen. Her last mainstream movie was the 2012 MMFF entry Si Agimat, Si Enteng and Me opposite Vic Sotto and Sen. Bong Revilla. Earlier, she turned down possible acting assignments in Mariquina and Maria Leonora Teresa.

Actually, it’s Judy Ann’s fervent wish to work with Gallaga and Reyes. Now is the perfect chance and the project is to be fielded in a prestigious film festival.

Apart from the movie, the award-winning star is also hosting ABS-CBN’s latest reality show titled I Do. Asked if this will be in direct competition with husband Ryan Agoncillo’s hit sitcom Ismol Family over at the rival network GMA, Juday assures it won’t.
