Is Vilma Santos turning Kapuso?

BATANGAS Governor Vilma Santos-Recto has always been a regular Kapamilya fixture. She would have guest appearances on GMA 7 once in a while.

Vilma will be seen at least three times in two Kapuso shows, particularly the two-part The Ryzza Mae Show birthday special early this week and the Marian pilot episode.

One of TV’s original dancing queens, Vilma dances once again on June 21 together with another dance icon Maricel Soriano in the pilot episode of the GMA primetime queen’s dancing show simply titled Marian. We personally think that both Vilma and Maricel were too big to be joined together in just one episode. That was really the plan.

Had they were able to get the third dancing queen, Loveliness herself, Alma Moreno, it would be history in the making for TV’s dancing show.

Alma is suffering from a bad case of scoliosis so Marian has to wait until her other dream guest gets better and dance again exclusively for her show. Meanwhile there is Vilma and Maricel  and this is big enough.

Now it can be told that  no members of the press was invited to last Sunday’s launch of one of the three Bench endorsements of Marian Rivera in the Sunday party show of GMA, Sunday All-Stars. Not, not even bloggers who sometimes dominate some events were there, too. The giant apparel, underwear and perfume producer has an explanation for this.

We were told that it was too late for the management to approve the budget for the press con and with Ben Chan out of the country, no funds were released for the first of the three launches. They promised to make it up on Marian’s second launch, the one for her apparel line with her name in it.

Of course with such a big product, this is quite hard to swallow specially when no-name girls and would be starlets get their own big launch by Bench when being introduced as endorsers.

With so many StarStruck either getting married or starting a family, it is ironic that Jackie, the third StarStruck female ultimate survivor and one of the first girls to be have a boyfriend, non showbiz at that, is not actually the marrying kind, so says the girl during the last hurrah for her afternoon soap Innamorata ending next week.

She realized this years ago even if she was very open in saying she loves her non-showbiz boyfriend very much and looks forward to a long lasting relationship with him. Of course marriage will come but not just now and maybe the other couple’s big events will come first before the walk on the aisle thing.

Innamorata will, by the way, have a different kind of ending with twists you will not expect. For one, Max will not be beautiful until the end and will have Dion Ignacio as partner. What about Luis Alandy? No, he will not end up with Jackie but with a new girl to be introduced tomorrow, a new character actually we’re not allowed to mention at this point but Robin Padilla will definitely be happy so to speak.

Ryan Agoncillo’s original game show in GMA ends its second season tonight with a Father’s Day special having wife Judy Ann Santos and their children as special guests. Of course everyone knows that Juday’s show in the competing network airs almost directly Ryan’s show so we wonder how GMA was able to pull this off being Father’s Day and all.

The management team behind the production is also praying for extension specially when they just got something of a good news: Picture! Picture! got a certificate of creative excellence from US International Film and Video Festival in Los Angeles. Details can be seen via the website https://www.filmfestawards.com.

Picture! Picture! is the only ETV show that received the certificate so this is one big honor for the show. Meanwhile, just in case Ryan will not get his extension, he will stay a Kapuso as his new sitcom Small Family with Carla Abellana starts within this month as he is still a mainstay in the number one lunch show Eat Bulaga
