Ismael Fajardo, the sacked deputy director general for administration of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, has been missing for two months and no one knows where he is, an official said Wednesday.

“The last time I had a chance to talk to him was about two months ago,” said Aaron Aquino, PDEA’s director general.

“He resigned from PDEA effective Nov. 30, during which he was implicated in the [controversial discovery of four empty] magnetic lifters [that used to contain shabu].”

Aquino also threatened to file criminal raps against those behind the shipment of shabu worth P11 billion that slipped past authorities.

He said he would file the charges on Thursday and invited reporters to cover the filing, but refused to identify the respondents.

Aquino said Fajardo had not been contacted since he took his leave of absence in October.

“I tried to call him up to convince him to attend the Senate and congressional inquiries, but he did not answer,” Aquino said.

“Just last month he changed his [mobile] phone number.”

Even Fajardo’s wife and son could not tell where Fajardo was when some PDEA operatives went to his house to check his whereabouts, Aquino said.

Earlier, Senator Richard Gordon, head of Senate Blue Ribbon committee, announced Fajardo’s disappearance.

Aquino relieved Fajardo over his supposed involvement in the shipments of shabu worth P2.4 billion inside a magnetic lifter at the Manila International Container Terminal, and another shipment of shabu worth P11 billion that went missing in General Mariano Alvarez town in Cavite in August.

Jimmy Guban, an intelligence officer of the Bureau of Customs, had implicated Fajardo along with former policeman Eduardo Acirto as behind both shipments of shabu.
