Maloslos City—Lawyer Jose ‘Pete’ R. Tengco Jr., philanthropist, former Development Bank of the Philippines governor from Feb. 7, 1967 to Aug. 14, 1981, died in his sleep last Dec. 4.
Tengco would have celebrated his 79th birthday on Dec. 29. He is survived by wife, Zeny, children Tony, Corina and Gabriel Bautista, former Malolos vice mayor Al Tengco and Carla, Maite and Louie General, Rosanna and Rene Nepomuceno, grandchildren, among them Sto. Niño barangay captain Migz Bautista, and great grandchildren.
His body was laid in state at the Word of Grace Sanctuary at Sct. Rallos, Barangay Sacred Heart in Quezon City and later was transferred yesterday afternoon to the family mausoleum at the Legacy Memorial Park in Sto. Rosario, Malolos City.
Interment rites will be held today, Sunday (Dec. 8) after the 11 a.m. Mass and memorial service. Orlan L. Mauricio
