JOMAR P. SARET, 62

Engineer Jomar Payno Saret, proprietor of Aretas Development & Supply, passed away on Sept. 12, 2018, at the age of 62.

Saret had a dual license as mining and metallurgical engineer earned from the Mapua Institute of Technology. He belonged to the pioneering batch of metallurgical engineers in the country. As one of the first few mining and metallurgical engineers in the country, Saret did the rounds of the country’s leading mining and metal firms, including Atlas Consolidated Mining Corp., Consolidated Mining Corp. and Uni-Minerals Inc., among others. Prior to establishing his own company, he was a long-time officer of the then-Government-owned National Steel Corp.

Saret is fondly remembered by his family, friends and relatives for his wit, sense of humor and exceptional skills in basketball, for which he earned several awards during his student and professional days.

He was married to the late Alfa Diaz, who passed away in 1997. He is survived by his mother, Zenaida Payno Saret; children Mikael, Aretas and Mokiel; and siblings Judith Sanchez, Mary Vivian Jimenez, Mary Agnes Rivera, Rosemarie Santos, Robert and Dulce Marie.

His body lies in state at Golden Haven Memorial Chapel and Crematorium, Villar Sipag, C5 Extension, Pulang Lupa, Las Piñas City.
