A total 39 Filipino students are going to pursue their higher education studies in the European Union under the Erasmus+ Program.

The Erasmus+ Program will allow them to pursue MA and Ph.D. programs in different universities across the European continent.

The scholarship allows students to study in more than one European Union country, giving them the opportunity to benefit from the academic expertise and culture of more than one university.

Ambassador Jessen urged the outgoing Erasmus+ students to become ambassadors of goodwill and agents of change to help strengthen the partnership between the EU and the Philippines in a reception at the EU Delegation to the Philippines.

He also encouraged the Erasmus+ scholars to give back to their country after they finished their program in the EU.

This program gives life-changing opportunities for Filipino students to experience living the European culture, learning European languages and being integrated into the European society for one to two years.

The Erasmus +  (formerly called the Erasmus Mundus Program) promotes the EU as a center of excellence in learning and making student mobility a reality for EU and non-EU citizens alike.

Erasmus Mundus alumni led by Kate Ramil, president of the EMA-Southeast Asian Region and Maybel Nonato, country representative of EMA Philippines,  along with other alumni shared their experiences in studying in Europe.

The alumni encouraged their scholars to take advantage of their time in the EU to benefit from borderless traveling and studying across different European Union countries and to become active members of Erasmus Associations in Europe.

Since 2004, more than 300 students and lecturers benefited from the program which covers air travel to Europe, tuition fees, and a monthly living allowance.

The Erasmus + is among the leading international academic mobility programs in the world, and students from the Philippines have benefited considerably from the program.
