Zamboanga City—At least nine people, including a high-value target personality, were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in the Zamboanga region, the police reported Saturday.
Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) information officer, identified the high-value target drug personality as Mayone Alcantara, 34, of Zamboanga del Sur.
Galvez said Alcantara, who is listed as the number four drug personality, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur at about 5:45 pm Friday.
Seized from Alcantara’s possessions were four heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” and P500 in marked money.
Galvez said the other drug personalities who were arrested in this city were identified as Glarrin Dimagiba, 28; Alvin Hajan, 51; Al-Bashier Pacundo, 27; Alsy Amdad, 29; Marcel Robillos; Luisito Andres; Kristine Ramos; and Abdulbaki Alama, 29.
She said they were arrested on Friday by the local police in separate anti-drug operations in this city.
Among those confiscated from the suspects were 16 sachets of suspected “shabu” and P1,000 in marked money.
Galvez said the suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
