Heads up: Road closures for INC anti-poverty event

Several roads will be closed in Manila over the weekend in line with Iglesia Ni Cristo’s anti-poverty event at Quirino Grandstand, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Wednesday. 

Motorists are advised that Katigbak Drive, South Drive, and Independence Drive will be closed on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.

By Sunday, the following areas will be closed from 12:01 a.m. onwards:

·         Stretch of Road-10 from Moriones to Delpan Bridge

·         Stretch of Bonifacio Drive from Delpan Bridge to Katigbak Drive

·         Stretch of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to P. Ocampo

·         East and Westbound lane of P. Burgos from Lagusnilad to Roxas Boulevard

·         Finance Road from Taft Avenue to P. Burgos

·         Westbound lane of TM Kalaw from M.H. del Pilar to Roxas Boulevard

·         Westbound lane of Pres. Quirino from M.H. del Pilar to Roxas Boulevard

The agency advised motorists to take these alternate routes:

·         Vehicles on Southbound lane of R-10 going to Bonifacio Drive shall turn left on Moriones Street to point of destination

·         Vehicles coming from Pasay area using the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn right on P. Ocampo Street or use Roxas Boulevard service road to point of destination

·         Vehicles coming from three bridges (Quezon, McArthur, Jones) using the southbound lane of Roxas boulevard shall go straight on Taft Avenue to point of destination

·         Vehicles from Ayala bridge going to Roxas Boulevard shall turn left on Taft Avenue, right on T. M. Kalaw, left on M. H. Del Pilar St. to point of destination

·         Vehicles in the westbound lane of Pres. Quirino shall turn left on Mabini St. to point of destination

·         Heavy vehicles and cargo trucks shall take Pres. Osmeña, to Pres. Quirino going to Nagtahan via AH Lacson to Yuseco to Capulong to R-10 (and vice versa).
