SMC Tollways ready for Lent

SMC Tollways, operator of Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in the north; and Skyway System, Naia Expressway (NAIAX), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and STAR Tollway in the south, said it is ready with contingency plans for the expected surge in vehicles from Metro Manila this Holy Week. These include the implementation of enhanced traffic management measures and setting up of motorist assistance stations in strategic locations along its tollroads to aid motorists and provide safe and hassle-free travel.

With an expected 10 percent increase  in traffic volume, SMC Tollways said it will mobilize all operations staff, additional toll collectors, ambulant tellers and traffic management personnel during the busy week. Temporary toll collection booths will be installed to speed up transaction time at the toll plazas. All road works will be suspended.
