5 cops die in ambush by suspected NPAs in Negros Oriental

Five (5) policemen were killed in an ambush by suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Negros Oriental.

The initial information came from Philippine Army 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander Colonel Eliezer Lozañes.

The incident took place on Friday morning in Barangay Magsaysay, Guihulngan City.

The cops were in the area to respond to a call for help following a reported assault against a Sangguniang Bayan member.

When the policemen reached the area, they were attacked by suspected rebels.

Two other policemen were wounded in the incident.
