President Rodrigo Duterte held a "very engaging" conversation with US President-elect Donald Trump on Friday night.
"Very engaging and animated phone conversation between President Duterte and President-elect Trump," was how Duterte's trusted aide, Special Assistant Christopher "Bong" Go, described the event on his Facebook account.
Go also posted a photo of Duterte wearing a plain black polo shirt, looking down on some papers as he spoke with Trump.
The conversation between Duterte and Trump started at 10:30 pm and it lasted for about 10 minutes.
Go also reported that during the phone call, Trump invited Duterte to visit him in the White House when he assumes the US presidency next year.
Duterte recently said, he wanted to get along with Trump.
He likes Trump as the US President-elect has not criticized the Duterte administation’s war on drugs.
US President Barack Obama previously said, Trump and Duterte will have ‘better ties’ since they both have similar temper.
