National team riders Jonnel Carcueva and Rustom Lim took center stage in the ongoing races of the Tour de Singkarak in Indonesia.

Carcueva, who is in the midst of preparations for the 30th Southeast Asian Games, ruled Stage 5, while Lim topped the following stage, to join Ismael Grospe in taking the top honors in this UCI 2.2 category event.

Because of this Carcueva jumped to no. 3 in the overall classification standings behind Team Sapura’s Jesse Ewart and teammate Cristian Raileanu.

The 24-year-old Carcueva, who is with Team Go For Gold, clocked five hours, 34 minutes and 33 seconds in taking stage 5, which is a 206.5 km course from Payakumbuh to Embun Pagi Agam.

In stage 6, Lim (Team 711) reached the finish line of the 204.1-km course from Singkarak to Solon Selantan in 5:38.08, some five seconds ahead of Indonesian bets Pourseyedi Mirsamad and Sai-Udomsin Phuchong.
