Senior recreation center Sunshine Place offers a workshop that teaches participants how to embellish bayong.
Berverly Lim, who completed a Decoupage Teacher Course Workshop designed by Calambour Italy, will lead a bayong decoupage workshop on October 12, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Decoupage refers to the art or craft of decorating objects with paper cutouts. Made by woven dried leaves such as buri and pandan, bayong is a multipurpose bag popular with Filipinos; it is usually used to carry goods bought from the market.
