Olfactory magic

Olfactory magicWhen the economy slumps and people feel worried sick of stocks falling and bonds not bringing in the promised financial games, majority of the cosmopolitans make anything and everything associated with beauty, be it fashion, accessories, the latest hairdo and color, even fragrance as their arsenal to survive the daily grueling grind.

And I’m a personal believer of this having witnessed the grand manner a new perfume line was made public.

Olfactory magic
Julia Sibayan and Ajay Balmores Acebuche Female and Male Ambassadors

Smelling a whiff of it and placing it on my pulse points, I have this tingly feeling that this brand will definitely make an impact to people with discriminating olfactory sense.

Just recently, it made an enchanting evening more pleasant with its search for their Mr. and Ms. Ambassadors, which happened at the Mindanao ballroom of the Sofitel in Pasay City.

A major catwalk was set wherein fifteen young ladies with queenly attitudes and fifteen young fellows that highlighted their masculine  qualities competed in  traditional pageantry segments, such as parade of Filipino festival costumes, casual wear with emphasis on florals as a statement to capture the sweet smell of the perfume line, swimwear in gold, and long gowns and men’s formal wear and yes, even a final question and answer portion for the final five contenders.

Adjudged as male ambassador is the oppa looking Ajay Balmores from Bulacan. A natural charmer and heartthrob in the making, Balmores was confidently handsome on stage and can rival any Asian superstar in terms of looks and height.

He was also one of the top three in the talent competition wherein he showcased his dancing talent employing Korean pop ditties.

Proclaimed as female ambassador is the stunning Julia Sibayan. She can pass on a distant cousin, if not sister of StarStruck avenger Diva Montelaba.

She donned her long gown with the requisite gait and undeniable X factor of a beauty queen. Most importantly, she had the best reply to the all-important question and answer portion amongst the top females in competition.

Another highlight of the ambassador competition was James Paul’s mini-fashion collection.  His segment was a fine sampling of his world-class haute couture collection which will be presented as part of CasaDeModa Manila’s Filipino Fashion Designers Gala-Taiwan which will happen on the 28th of July.

His evening gown creations are elegant and divine to look at and the models who wore them, simply took everyone’s breath away – clean lines, silhouette perfection, pronounced use of accessories and most of all, his clothes accentuated the Filipina form and figure.

Visibly pleased with the final result was Mark Tan Acebuche, the man behind the new parfums.  He said: “My parfums are oil-based so those who will be using the fragrances are assured of the fact that the scent will last long. It is an olfactory treat and you will love wearing it, day and night. I am not making bola here, once you get a sniff of it, you will crave for scents. ”

His message to his ambassadors Balmores and Sibayan, “I am pleased that they are the victors of the competition. For sure, they will be able to promote Acebuche parfums well and together, we will work diligently to carve and make our niche in the fragrance industry. With Arjay and Julia, God’s help and my team, of course, we are together with our quest of making our product not only a familiar brand but fragrances that people use all the time.”
