Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya—Elementary schoolers of two learning institutions in this town recently received free school materials and supplies from a fraternal organization and private business establishments.

The gift giving activity brought to the schoolers free books, bags filled with notebooks, pens, pencils, paper pads and crayons, among others.

The recipient schools were the Caritas Elementary School and Mapayao Elementary School, all of upland Kayapa town.

“This is part of our outreach gift giving program to help poor schoolers in upland communities. In this way, their parents will be spared from spending for their school supplies and materials,” said Reynald Tan, president of the Alpha Phi Omega Theta Epsilon Chapter Alumni Association.

The Bambang town-based APO–TECAA also partnered with Fuerte Lending Corp., Lafayette Riders and other donors to help realize the gift-giving activity.

Aside from the school supplies and materials, APO-TECAA members also donated paints and provided services in support of the schools’ Brigada Eskwela program.

Other donors of the gift giving activity were the Rural Bank of Bambang, Inc. and the Lagawe Cooperative.

“Thank you for the school supplies, paints and services, you made a difference of the life of our children. We are also grateful to all who attended this humble endeavor,” said Carlo Monte Mar Banih, a school teacher.
