A delegation from Iran engaged in the nano technology is looking for a local partner as the Middle East nation firms up plans to invest in the Philippines.

The group reached out to the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry to relay its search for the most competent local partner.

“It was the Iranian ambassador who personally accompanied the group to present to us this very advanced technology. They are planning to bring in the technology thru their products and there is a high probability that they will invest here,” chamber president Alegria Limjoco said over the weekend.

The delegation, composed of Iran Ambassador Mohammad Tanhei and the Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council, said it wanted to discuss the significance of Iran nanotechnology that can be used for future cooperation between the Philippines and Iran.

“They are introducing their cutting edge technology in Philippines. Considering our economy expanded by more than 6 percent per annum, they are scouting for reliable partner in nanotechnology either in marketing or investment,” said PCCI chairman emeritus Francis Chua.
