The Navotas City Government on Wednesday inaugurated three completed infrastructure projects.

Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Rep. Toby Tiangco led the series of blessings and ribbon cuttings of newly-constructed open space and river wall at Barangay Sipac-Almacen and upgraded alleys and drainage canals at Champaca and Goldrock Streets at Barangay San Roque.

Also present in the ceremonies were Vice Mayor Clint Geronimo, Councilors Ethel Joy Arriola-Mejia, Alvin Nazal, Arnel Lupisan, and Neil Cruz, Association of Barangay Captains-Navotas president Ricky Gino-Gino, barangay captains Tito Sanchez, Ernan Perez and Margarita Limbaro, Junior Chamber International Navotas Chapter president Migi Naval, and city department heads.

In his speech, Mayor Tiangco, reminded Navoteños to be mindful of their surroundings and practice proper waste disposal.

“We want every Navoteño family to have a clean, safe and orderly place to live in, but we all need to work together to make this a realization,” he said.

“Practice discipline and instill the same on your children. Make proper waste disposal a habit. Refrain from throwing waste on the streets or waterways to avoid clogging of canals or flooding,” he added.

Coastal dikes and river walls, improved drainage canals and pumping stations form part of Navotas’ flood control and mitigation system.
