A high-ranking director from Epson expects a remarkable growth this year after the company celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, in Taguig last Sept. 20.
Epson’s 20th anniversary theme was “20 years leading the show” and Marketing Director for Epson Philippines, Eduardo Bonoan, stated how Epson will continue to dominate the show in the printing and projector industries.
“We boldly predict a strong 19 percent growth by the end of the fiscal year 2018,” said Bonoan, whose audacious prediction for the company was not too far-fetched as there are data supporting his claim.
Both the data collected from the Hardcopy Peripherals Report and the FutureSource Projector Report showed that both Epson’s printers and projectors sold 55% market shares respectively this year alone.
According to the International Data Corporation’s Worldwide Quarterly Hardcopy Peripherals Tracker, Epson is the leading company in the year-over-year shipment growth in 4Q17 at 12.2%, followed by Brother at 5.2%, and Canon Group at 1.4%.
Epson aims to preserve its dominance by continuing to launch cutting-edge printers from high-to-low range starting from their flagship L-series printers down to the EcoTank printers.
“We started as a modest representative office here in the country. From then on we have grown rapidly due to the hard work and creativity of our dedicated employees.” Managing Director for South East Asia, President and Country Manager Toshimitsu Tanaka said.
Epson expressed its gratitude to longtime employees with five to 20 years in service by having an award and recognition ceremony midway through the event.
Two employees, whom the host called “the pioneers”, have remained loyal to Epson for the past 20 years, and they are: Leonito De Gala and Elizabeth Alcantara.
The event ended with a closing remark from Bonoan saying: “As we celebrated 20 years of Epson, let’s start a brand new year, and we’re expecting many many more years to come. I salute you everyone here.”
