Save half of the usual commuting time going to work or walk leisurely to your office. Play around with your kids in the pool. Jog alone or run around the paths with your pet. Sweat it out in the gym or relish a deep slumber in your unit after a fun-filled night with friends.

Partners Brendan Daly and Melanie Belugulo with their twins enjoy a stunning view of the Samal Island coastline from the balcony of their two-bedroom unit in Verdon Parc.

These are some of the comforts offered by condo living that are now captivating the southern part of the Philippine archipelago.

Whether for young professionals, a start-up family, or retirees, condominiums are increasingly becoming a housing option of choice in the flourishing city of Davao, further fuelling the property boom in the area.

It is a trend that is seen to persist in the coming years as more residents are embracing vertical living as reflected by the occupants of DMCI Homes’ Verdon Parc, a development along Ecoland Drive corner Peacock Street in Davao City.

The three-hectare development has posted robust sales, with most of its eager buyers coming from Davao del Sur and neighboring provinces of North and South Cotabato.

Thirty two-year-old Davaoeña Melanie Belugulo is one of those who has learned to embrace the conveniences of modern living when her family moved to Verdon Parc in 2017.

Influenced by her Irish partner Brendan Daly, Belugulo said condo living is very convenient for her growing family.

“It’s convenient because of the services that are provided. Security is important and it’s good,” said Belugulo. “The staff members are very professional, very nice, and very helpful.”

Known for its trademark resort-inspired amenities, DMCI Homes designed Verdon Parc to complement Davao City’s abundant and pristine natural resources, creating a haven of relaxation and comfort for residents.

Fitness facilities, swimming pools, entertainment and game rooms, play areas, and leisure zones, are available to satisfy every resident’s whim.

Pointing out the charm of the development’s amenities and facilities, Daly who is a chartered accountant by profession, shared, “It’s nice to have amenities like the swimming pool. We do a lot of swimming. We take the twins around the garden and play area.”

“But what we really like about this property is the view of the coastline of Samal Island, which is what we really wanted,” he exclaimed while standing on the balcony of their two-bedroom unit.
