Pinay OFW falls to death in Saudi Arabia

Another household Filipino worker fell to her death in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Foreign Affairs reported on Saturday.

In a statement, the DFA confirmed that the Filipina who sustained a head injury after she fell from the sixth-floor from her employer’s residence, died in the hospital at around 3:30 p.m.

Consul General Edgar Badajos said authorities are still investigating the death of the Filipina domestic helper.

“The Filipina, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was brought to the hospital at around 3:30 p.m. but died shortly after from head injuries,” Badajos said.

Badajos said that immediately after the heard the report, the consulate general dispatched a team to coordinate with authorities investigating the case.

Badajos also said that the victim’s remains were brought to the King Fahad Hospital in Madinah for examination.

Based on the initial autopsy results, the Filipino has no indication of any physical abuse.

Badajos also revealed that the Filipino hailed from Basilan, Mindanao and had been on her job in Saudi Arabia for over two months.

So far, the envoy said the consulate office is now trying to connect with the victim’s recruitment agency in Manila and the family in Basilan.
