INNOVATIVE BUILDER. Engineering and infrastructure firm Megawide Construction Corporation (Megawide) and Gaisano-led Midland Development Corp. recently signed a contract for the development of Taft East Gate Phase 1. The project is a 43-storey building to be built on an 82,816 square-meter land in Cardinal Rosales Ave., corner Pope John Paul II Ave., Cebu City. It will have two office levels, 31 residential floors, retail areas, and several essential amenities and facilities. Megawide built other buildings in the city, including the Philam Life Cebu Tower, One Manchester Place, and Tower One Plaza Magellan. It is also developing the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, with the Terminal 2 opening in June 2018.  “This is our first project with the Gaisano Group,” said Ronald Paulo, Megawide executive vice president and construction group head. “We look forward to a successful partnership with them.” At the signing were (left to right): Artemio Dy, Jack Gaisano, Ronald Paulo (Megawide), and Edward Gaisano.
