Luxury designer Ermenigildo Zegna has allowed us to take a peek at his summer collection.
Luxury Leisurewear
The Luxury Leisurewear collection is characterized by its innovative designs and ample use of luxurious yarn blends, fine leathers, and elegant details. By pairing precious cashmere knitwear and drawstring pants with luxurious leather outerwear and travel accessories, Ermenegildo Zegna has created a new style concept that merges understated elegance and leisurewear. The sophisticated color palette, based on light grey and Vicuna with alternating navy blue and black accents, further complements the progressive attitude and exquisite drape.
The concept of designing intensely comfortable, elegant clothing was first seen in miniature at the Winter 2017 show as an element of Alessandro Sartori’s dialog between exquisite tailoring and the fast-paced needs of urban globetrotters. Now, for Spring/Summer 2018 the Luxury Leisurewear collection has come into its own with a selection of luxurious clothing and accessories that are comfortable, ultra-modern, and suitable for men of all ages.
Ermenegildo Zegna introduces “Movement” a solo dance by Benjamin Millepied to celebrate the new Luxury Leisurewear collection, an entire selection of sophisticatedly versatile clothing designed to ensure complete freedom of movement.
The studied mix of hybrid garments with indulgently informal lines and a decidedly fresh approach to dressing represents the perfect encounter between easy comfort and contemporary masculine style.
To demonstrate the degree of unrestricted liberty, choreographer and dancer Millepied, dressed exclusively in Ermenegildo Zegna Luxury Leisurewear, performs “Movement”, a dynamic and passionate solo dance piece in which his clothing perfectly echoes his distinctively masculine body language.
Maserati Capsule Collection
The new Maserati Capsule Collection inspired by the GranLusso trim package featuring a dedicated Ermenegildo Zegna fabric is now available for Quattroporte, Ghibli, and Levante models. The sophisticated collection of travel-oriented clothing in microfiber fabrics with micro nubuck details, together with the luxurious personal leather bags and accessories, are tangible representations of the craftsmanship and elegance that characterize the two Made in Italy brands. The collection also demonstrates another concrete result of the multi-year partnership that was inaugurated in early 2013.
The dual color, dual material composition of the leather and exclusive anthracite silk trim package designed by Ermenegildo Zegna for Maserati is reflected in the strong presence of premium leather accessories, including a special edition trolley, two different backpacks and special edition Triple Stitch sneakers. Premium leather is also featured on the hybrid glasses case, travel wallet and other small leather goods, reflecting the understated luxury of the brands.
The capsule collection is characterized by its refined use of leather and micro nubuck paired with high-performance hybrid and quilted outerwear in chocolate brown and grey mélange. Other important pieces in the collection include the chocolate brown leather trolley, whose memory foam structure protects it from impact, leather backpacks, premium leather footwear, and premium leather driving and travel accessories, together with denim jeans, polo shirts in pure cotton jersey with the Maserati trident embroidered on the chest, and a silk jacquard scarf featuring the Maserati logo.
Ermenegildo Zegna Beachwear
Ermenegildo Zegna expands its comprehensive wardrobe by launching the new Ermenegildo Zegna Beachwear collection.
A first for the global luxury brand, the inaugural collection of swimwear, beach attire and accessories, which is characterized by a fresh, summery Italian allure, was presented at Pitti Immagine Uomo in a dedicated area of the fair.
“In my new vision of the Ermenegildo Zegna Style, I could have not think about the perfect wardrobe without a Beachwear Collection, where the research in Innovative Materials like the ‘Microlite’ or ‘Ultralight Seersucker’ meets the new Zegna Aesthetic,” said Sartori.
Developed in partnership with ISA S.p.A, Ermenegildo Zegna Beachwear is stylish, cool and extremely comfortable. From boxer shorts and tailored swim trunks with their dedicated waterproof pochette, to polos, boat-neck shirts and towels, the offer blends performance and design with quality craftsmanship and a focus on subtle details. Lightweight and technically-enhanced materials provide natural softness while ensuring maximum performance in the water or when enjoying the sun. Styles are sporty and chic, ranging from solid colors with contrasting hems to the prints and patterns that form the fil-rouge of the collection. With its hand-drawn Biadera stripes and stylized flowers and geometric micro designs, the new Ermenegildo Zegna Beachwear collection reflects a contemporary summer masculinity typical of today’s Zegna man.
Leather accessories
This season the innovative Ermenegildo Zegna real leather “fabric” is featured in backpacks, holdalls, luggage, crossbodys and pouches. Available in shades of blue, vicuna, light brown, white and black with colored crossing threads.
Pelle Tessuta is the result of pioneering Ermenegildo Zegna research enabling craftsmen to weave extremely thin strips of nappa leather on special looms, thereby replicating the traditional way of weaving cloth. The exclusive manufacturing process extends the quality of Zegna’s textile heritage into the leather world, where the lightweight and highly versatile leather fabric has become a protagonist of the leading luxury brand’s collections.
The Asola moccasin back for another season is realized on elongated and elegant last with the reverse construction which requires a highly level of expertise; the upper of the shoe features a new designed band, with the cut of the buttonhole of a jacket, fixed by and hand-stitch on the side, available in Suede—Deep blue, green and dark brown; Lamb nappa—Deep blue and green, dark brown and light blue and brown suede.
The buttonhole Asola is an aesthetic and iconic detail that also functions as a useful pocket for tickets or credit cards. This season features new additions, continental wallets, zip cases, billfolds and card cases. All in Nappa leather in shades of Light blue, Yellow, Opera red, Vicuna, Dark brown and Black.
