He was shaking uncontrollably on the street in Manila. He had distemper, a fatal disease that hits the nerves before the dog dies. It is a painful illness, and a painful way to die. His name is Jasper.
Her owner died of cancer a few months ago. The siblings of her owner put her up for adoption and breeders lined up to get her. A pure Belgian Malinois, breeders wanted her because she can produce many puppies who will be sold for a lot of money. Her name is Macky.
Save ALL Inc. – Save Animals of Love and Light decided to save them.
Save ALL Inc., an animal welfare group registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), could not leave Jasper alone on the street to die of a painful disease, or allow Macky to be bred for life.
The group rescued both dogs and spent tens of thousands of pesos to have Jasper treated for distemper and later for erlichia, and Macky for a slight bacterial infection and tick infestation. Both dogs were dewormed, vaccinated, and have been on a heart worm preventive medicine.
Macky has been spayed, while Jasper is due for neutering in September when the vet returns from the province.
The two dogs are now ready for a lifetime, loving home.
Jasper and Macky are just two of the many rescues of Save ALL who are waiting to be loved and welcomed into a loving family.
To date, Save ALL has rescued more than 400 dogs and cats from the pounds, and animals who were hurt, very sick, and abandoned in their owner’s house and on the streets. Most have been adopted but there are still rescues waiting to be adopted.
