Weekend family fun

Itching to go on an adventure with the family this weekend? A premier hotel in Bonifacio Global City offers an all-inclusive package that’s filled with everything that makes a fun weekend staycation.

Weekend family fun
Relish a slow morning while indulging in a buffet breakfast with the whole family.

“Bonifacio Global City is an exciting 24/7 city where everyone can play, work, and live. A staycation at the center of a young and dynamic community is anything but boring. It’s a perfect balance of fun and relaxation,” said John Rice, general manager of Shangri-La at the Fort.

Starting at P10,000 per night, families can stay at Shangri-La at the Fort where upon check-in at 2:00 p.m., they will enjoy spacious rooms or suites with floor to ceiling windows that feature a breathtaking Metro Manila cityscape, and spend the rest of the afternoon by jumping in any of the property’s two outdoor swimming pools.

Mom and dad can squeeze in a bit of exercise as they get a full access to Kerry Sports Manila’s fitness facilities. Those who are feeling a little competitive may take a swing at the fitness center’s squash and tennis courts.

On the other hand, kids 12 years old and below have an access to Shangri-La at the Fort’s Adventure Zone, Metro Manila’s largest indoor jungle gym at 1,000 square meters. The demon drop slide is a must-try for daring kids (and adults, too) with a height of almost two-stories. Parents are advised to pack their young ones’ long-sleeve shirts, long pants, and socks, which are the required attire at the play area.

If kids want to go out, BGC has other child-friendly spots such as The Mind Museum, which boasts over 250 interactive exhibits; Central Square, a four-level upmarket retail destination located directly across the hotel; and Bonifacio High Street, which offers a mix of retail shops, restaurants, gardens, interactive art pieces, and an urban amphitheater.

Families will wake up to a steady weekend morning and indulge in a buffet breakfast at High Street Cafe, a modern food hall lined with an array of offerings from different stations or “neighborhoods” which include Japanese, Mediterranean, Chinese, Western, Seafood and Raw Bar, Salad Bar, Rotisserie, and Dessert sections.

After a hearty breakfast, parents and their kids can go an early morning stroll around the city with the complimentary use of Bambikes, a locally handmade bamboo bicycle. Just check with the hotel’s concierge to check the availability.

If not, guests can stay in and enjoy the weekend a bit more, as there’s no need to rush because they may be able to check-out late, at 2:00 p.m.

The offer is valid for stays on Fridays to Sundays until November 30. It’s also valid on August 26. Go to www.shangri-la.com for more information.
