Restaurateur and style maven Trish Panlilio celebrates the second anniversary of Mulberry Door, her dining venture in Forbestown Road, Bonifacio Global City.

Dinner with a purpose
GIVE BACK. Mullbery Door by nawwTy’s kitchen celebrates its second anniversary with a specially curated dinner series in collaboration with women-led enterprises.

But instead of the usual fanfare and dining deals, the restaurant, known for its cozy interior and comfort food dishes, gives back with a series of specially curated dinners in collaboration with women entrepreneurs involved with community-based projects.

“Mulberry Door by nawwTy’s kitchen turned two on May 17. In lieu of the usual festivities, we have decided to celebrate by partnering with friends who support local artisans and communities,” shared Panlilio.

For the first dinner series on June 26, nawwTy’s collaborated with Holy Carabao Holistic Farm’s Hindy Weber and Melanie Go whose beneficiary is SOIL (Samahan ng Organikong Industriya ng Laguna), an advocacy for local farmers.

“I’m a personal friend of Trish’s and I’ve always loved her food—when she hosts us in her home, even if it’s the simplest get-together, she still brings out such an abundance from her kitchen. We feel so special,” shared Weber.

Weber continued, “It’s nice to bring it (Holy Carabao) to people, bring it to the table, and from a different perspective also, because when it comes from our kitchen we present it in a particular way but when it’s interpreted by a chef or by Trish, it really gives it a new touch and a new flavor. We’ve worked with some other chefs before, but not Trish yet so this was something that we’re looking forward to.”

The benefit dinner in collaboration with Holy Carabao featured a mouthwaterirng menu including (clockwise) Salad Greens and Pickled Sugar Beets with Mulberry Vinaigrette Dressing, Oven Roasted Cochinillo, Pinakbet Paella and Pickled Banana Peppers, and Aubergine Roll with Lemon Crab Meat.

The five-course dinner menu featured dishes using organic produce from Holy Carabao starting with Cream of Zucchini with Roasted Corn Kernels, and Salad Greens and Pickled Sugar Beets with a Mulberry Vinaigrette Dressing.

The appetizer was followed by main courses consisting of Aubergine Roll with Lemon Crab Meat, a mouthwatering Oven Roasted Conchinillo with Eggplant Chimichurri, and a hearty portion of Pinakbet Paella and Pickled Banana Peppers.

For dessert, diners indulged in a delectable serving of Carabaos Milk Ice Cream with Aratilis Compote and Honey Tuille.

For the upcoming dinners, priced at P7,000 per head, Panlilio will again be preparing a special menu to highlight the woman-led enterprises.

In August, Mulberry Door will be in collaboration with Jenny Yrasuegui to highlight the local livestock ingredients from Backyard Farms for the benefit of Best Buddies Philippines, an organization supported by Michelle Aventajado and Sabrina Go of MothersWhoBrunch.

It will culminate in October with a dinner in partnership with Jeannie Javelosa, for the benefit of GREAT Women Stock Purchase Fund for Weavers. The menu will feature ingredients from Holy Carabao and Backyard Farms.
