It was a feast for art lovers and a gathering of Filipino artist when Ayni Nuyda, daughter of master painter Justin Nuyda, officially launched the Search Mindscape Foundation.

‘Continuum: Connecting Mindscapes’ features artworks of 30 artists, including Justin Nuyda’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’ and ‘Passion.’

According to the younger Nuyda, the foundation aims to serve as a platform that will help develop artists and expand the access of art in its future programs and partnerships. The establishment of the foundation, she said, was motivated during the time when her father started collecting artworks created by young contemporary artists.

“It also strengthened my belief that Filipinos do have a lot to offer not only in the local art scene but internationally as well,” she added. “Coming back to Manila, I felt the need for me to fully participate in promoting Philippine visual art.”

The launch—which coincided with the 75th birthday of Justin Nuyda—featured the 30-man exhibit “Continuum: Connecting Mindscapes.”

Interior designer Jigs Adefuin wove the artworks of 30 Filipino contemporary artists into a narrative that bridges the legacy of Nuyda as one of the pillars of Philippine contemporary art and the next generation of artists who will eventually move on to greater heights.
