Citicore Candlewick Foundation Inc, the social responsibility arm of renewable energy and water company Citicore, has treated more than 200 families in a medical mission in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

In partnership with the local government unit of Lapu-Lapu, Citicore organized the medical mission focusing on remote communities having limited access to basic healthcare. The second run of the mission is scheduled third week of September.

Jose Antonio Soler, President of Citicore Summawater, said as a good neighbor, Citicore is committed in uplifting and saving the lives of their communities where they operate.

This is “on top of our mission in helping the country solve power and water crisis by supplying sustainable and clean renewable energy,” he said.

Citicore Summa Water Corp. is involved in bulk water supply and concessionaire agreements. It is a joint venture company formed by the partnership between renewable energy firm Citicore and water technical and operations company Summa Water Resources, Inc.

Soler said CSWC will be helping Lapu-Lapu City’s water situation by supplying desalinated bulk water in the city. Lapu-Lapu aims to have uninterrupted and sufficient water supply by 2020.

City health units, volunteer medical professionals, private practitioners and the Foundation team were hand on hand in providing ECG, pediatric and medical consultation services along with dispensing free medicines and vitamins.

Maintenance medicines were given away to veterans and their dependents. Indigent patients were likewise given one week supply of medicines during the mission.
