Of this number, 34 were NavotaAs academic scholars, and six were beneficiaries of the Ulirang Pamilyang Mangingisda Scholarship.

“Education opens doors to success. We want to provide our children with quality learning so that they will be equipped to face life’s challenges and be able to succeed in whatever field they choose,” said Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco.

This year’s batch of academic scholars included 15 incoming high school freshmen, 12 incoming freshmen of Navotas Polytechnic College, one incoming freshman of any college or university, and six teachers seeking higher education.

Meanwhile, all fisherfolk scholars are incoming college freshmen.
