Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte recently distributed high-speed sewing and edging machines to the dressmaking graduates in Barangay Pinyahan in support of a livelihood program and its formation of the barangay’s cooperative.
“I want to congratulate all of you for being able to finish the short course on dressmaking here in your barangay. Now that you already know the basics of creating attires, I hope you will utilize this knowledge to make clothes that you can sell and use this as a source of income,” she said.
“Also, I encourage you to form a cooperative so you can get contracts from city hall without having to bid for these, as the cooperative law provides. That way, you can utilize the city’s fund and at the same time ensure the livelihood for our people,” she added.
She lauded the barangay’s effort for providing the livelihood program.
