Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—The forthcoming celebration of the Ammungan Festival here will put into the forefront the province’s local products for promotion and sale.
“This will serve as a venue to help our local entrepreneurs in marketing their products. We hope that it will bring them more income, possible future investments and market expansions,” said Ma. Carla Lucia Torralba, director-general of the 2019 Festival.
The local products of the province will be exposed during the duration of the festivities from May 22 to 26 at the provincial capitol compound in this town.
Torralba said Nueva Vizcaya’s products will be featured in the Agri-Trade Fair dubbed Gawang Vizcayano Exhibit, which will be formally opened on May 22.
Precy Maglaya, chief trade and industry specialist of the Department of Trade and Industry, said the products to be showcased during the festival are high quality-made furnitures, handicrafts and processed foods, among others.
“Some of these products represent the One Town One Product of the 15 municipalities of the province,” she said.
The products are manufactured and produced by the Nueva Vizcaya Entrepreneurs Association, assisted by the provincial government and national agencies such as the DTI, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and the Department of Science and Technology, among others.
Ammungan, the local word for “gathering for celebration,” highlights the 180th Founding Anniversary of Nueva Vizcaya as a province following Spanish colonization.
