“Governor Abet [Garcia] wants Bataan not just to be rank 1 in the Human Development Index in the region, but the entire country,” the vice governor told family leaders in a meeting here, as she campaigned for the 1Bataan1Orani slate.

“The province now boasts of outstanding achievements in education, health, investment, and other areas of development,” she added, as she urged Orani to vote straight for their lineup.

“There is high employment opportunity in our province. Only lazy people will not find job,” the vice governor said.

“Let us reelect Gov. Abet. Garcia for the continuity of the gains of the present administration,” she exhorted local leaders.

The governor and the vice governor are first-degree cousins.

Before becoming vice governor and presiding officer of the Provincial Board, Garcia was the original coordinator of the monumental Iskolar ng Bataan. She now serves as adviser of the program.

“We will pass in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan whatever resolution needed to further improve Iskolar ng Bataan program,” she said.

The late Governor Tet Garcia and his son, then 2nd-District Rep. Garcia, who became the incumbent governor, hatched in 2005 the Iskolar ng Bataan program benefitting thousands of college students from the province.
