Nueva Vizcaya tourist arrivals up 10% in 2018

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—Tourist arrivals in this province have increased by 10 percent in 2018 compared to 2017, local tourism officials revealed.

Jane Arcega, Tourism Operations Assistant of the provincial government, said domestic and foreign tourists who visited the province in 2018 rose to 150,770, while 2017 showed only 135,716.

“With this figure, we have a ten percent increase regarding tourist arrivals and we hope to surpass this through various promotional activities,” she said.

Arcega also noted there were also 93,037 and 108,762 domestic and foreign tourists who came to Nueva Vizcaya in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Domestic and foreign excursionists in the province increased in 2018 at 282,429, compared to 255,065 in 2017, 225,909 in 2016 and 52,336 in 2015, Arcega said.

The Capissaan Cave System in Kasibu town is the most visited tourist attraction in the province along with the Lower Magat Eco-Tourism Park in barangay San Luis in Diadi town.

Records from the Provincial Tourism Office showed that tourist arrivals in the Capissaan Cave System increased drastically from 4,012 in 2016 and 4,202 in 2017 to 6,035 in 2018.

“Most of the arrivals were domestic tourists from various parts of the country,” Arcega stressed.
