Los Baños—Laguna Water District Aquatech Resources Corp. recently completed the construction of a reservoir located at Barangay Bayog, Los Baños, Laguna.

The blessing of the Bayog reservoir was held on Dec. 18, officiated by Father Larry R. Abayon and led by Anna Karenina Lim Puerto, LARC Community Relations and External Affairs group head; Shela Sigue, Community Relations and External Affair Specialist; Christian Henry Lacson, Operation Manager, and Mikhail Tabucal, Engineering Manager.

LARC’s Maahas reservoir is due for completion by the end of the year, Puerto said.

The two reservoirs, which have a combined storage capacity of more than 750,000 liters of water, aim to enhance water reliability and boost distribution efficiency in Los Baños and parts of Bay.

The new reservoirs will enable LARC to increase the water availability during peak demand. These new facilities can increase water pressure that will allow LARC to bring potable water to areas which previously had limited supply availability.

More than 3567 households at Bayog, Maahas, and parts of San Antonio and Mayondon in Los Baños will benefit from the improved water pressure.

Concessionaires from Sto. Domingo and parts of Calo in Bay will also experience the improved water supply and pressure. The reservoirs can also support LARC’s new water service connections in the area.

The two new reservoirs will add to LARC’s five existing reservoirs located in strategic locations throughout its concession area.

LARC is also set to build another one million-liter reservoir at Puypuy, Bay next year.
