Nueva Vizcaya miner OceanaGold cited for 5 years of CSR excellence

Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya—OceanaGold Philippines Inc. bagged another special recognition for five consecutive years of excellence in corporate social responsibility or CSR.

The special award was handed during the 10th Golden Year celebration of the world-renowned Global CSR Summit and Awards at the Sheraton Senggigi Beach Resort in Lombok, Indonesia last April 19-20, 2018.

The judges noted OGPI’s leadership in environmental and social sustainability.

OceanaGold’s Didipio Mine was also given the Gold Award for Best in Workplace Practices highlighting its workplace culture, comprehensiveness of workplace policies, and its innovations in pioneering new workplace solutions and programs.

The Global CSR Summit and Awards is an invaluable opportunity for showcasing best practices and inspiring more companies to be involved in Corporate Social Responsibility.

“The awards demonstrate the quality and safe workplace for the company’s employees, protection of our environment for future generations, and delivery of our commitments to our communities wherein we operate,” OGPI General Manager David Way said.

OGPI, for the past five years, has garnered awards in community development, environment protection and enhancement, workplace practices, and even women empowerment.

The 2018 Global CSR Awards is a prestigious recognition awards program for Corporate Social Responsibility in Asia. The program recognizes and honors companies for outstanding, innovative, and world-class products, services, projects, programs implemented in the past or present.
