Sleep to Dream

We all have beds,  and we all need them. We spend a huge portion of our lives IN them, so theoretically, these should stand out and be just as fantastic as every other piece of furniture in the house.

Beds are not just about the mattresses you put on them. You have to think about what you put those fancy mattresses on.

Bedroom function

The bedroom is quite the hub of activity these days – we’re spending more time in it and we’re doing more activities in it – because we’re treating it as our haven; as a place of calm, and for some of us, the only room where we can get some peace and quiet.

Bedrooms are one of our most sacred downtime spaces, yet so often they are overlooked and not conducive to a good night’s rest. Many designers now believe that modern bedrooms, and beds, allow people to take back this sacred space to help better rest and recharge.

Many Filipinos feel that their bedroom is a more comfortable space to relax in than other areas of the home. So it’s unsurprising that it has now become a hub of activity. Increasingly, the top social activities adults are likely to indulge in while ensconced in bed include reading, watching TV or a film, scrolling through a phone, talking on the phone, and listening to music or podcasts.

Textures, materials

Conservative design with modern clean lines is currently defining the contemporary bedroom furniture market. Highly tactile, textured handles are being considered for depth and character, with integrated accessories such as full-length mirrors and lighting being built-in to the front of wardrobes for added value and practicality.

Personalisation

There is a desire for the home to be designed with more individuality. With this in mind, the bedroom should be the most personable space within the home. You can effortlessly achieve uniqueness by mixing and matching bedroom finishes.

Bigger beds

More and more people are buying bigger beds. While sales of standard double beds are still up, king sized bed purchases have increased, indicating a change in consumer behaviour.

Hammocks, floating beds

Its origins lost in antiquity, the hammock has been a popular and practical alternative to terra firma sleeping arrangements for thousands of years. Slung between walls on a series of heavy-duty chains, a double-sized hammock can be an eye-catcher, a room centerpiece, and a sheer joy when it is time to sweep the floor.

Sleep to Dream

For those who aren’t keen on being grounded a bed float may be just what the doctor ordered. Not only can it be fully dismantled in a jiffy, it could be also designed to look as if it’s touching the ground as little as possible.
