From building value-laden, low-cost housing projects across the country, 8990 Holdings, Inc. is now dipping its feet into the promising waters of the hotel and hospitality industry. recently launching 8990 Leisure and Resorts. The new company is a subsidiary of 8990 Holdings, Inc. (HOUSE), which bagged a  net income of PHP 3.4 billion in the first three quarters of 2018. “The Philippine leisure and hospitality industry is on an upswing with the current administration focusing on tourism development,” explained Willie J. Uy, 8990 Holdings, Inc. president and chief executive officer. “The launch of 8990 Leisure and Resorts definitely comes at a perfect time.” With PHP 5 billion worth of investments, the company is looking at developing a total of 3,000 rooms in the next five years in destinations such as Cebu, Makati, Davao, Palawan, Boracay, Siquijor, Alabang, Manila, Iloilo, Legazpi, Clark, Lapu-Lapu, Siargao, and Baguio. It is now developing of three new hotel and resort brands, namely Adama, a five-star luxury family resort, the Kura, a four-star hotel for trailblazers; and a resident urban hotel, Argo.
