The Privato Hotel Group, a five-year-old business chain, recently launched two more hotels, one in Quezon City, and soon in Makati, to add to its existing one in Ortigas across Capitol Commons. Gab Perez, a 31-year-old entrepreneur, oversaw the construction of two Privato hotels from the ground up, while the other is an acquisition. Privato Quezon City came by chance, when Perez received an offer from the Max’s Group to acquire its property (formerly the Meranti). Designed by the renowned firm of Budji Layug and Royal Pineda, and featuring furniture by Kenneth Cobonpue, the space already has Privato’s streamlined aesthetic, so changing its branding and look was no longer such a herculean task for Perez and his team. By June 1 of 2019, they took over operations.  The young hotelier collaborated with Casas+Architects, Jose Aliling Construction Management, and Enderun Hotels for the design, construction management, and day-to-day operations of the hotels. Privato hotels’ main clients are either corporate accounts or business travelers, but there are many staycationers too.   For more information about Privato, visit www.privatohotels.com
