Modern steel mill

Steel Asia Manufacturing Corp. breaks ground in Barangay Poblacion, Compostela, Cebu for what will be the Philippines’ largest, most efficient and environmentally friendly steel mill. It will also be the country’s only wire-rod production, a product that will give birth to downstream SME industry clusters such as steel cables, mesh, screws, welding rods, springs and other industries that use wire-rods as inputs. Shown are (from left) Barangay Poblacion chairman Froilan Quiño, SteelAsia president Adrian Cristobal Jr., SteelAsia senior vice president Emily Lim, Cebu vice governor Agnes Magpale, SteelAsia chief executive Benjamin Yao, Compostela mayor Joel Quiño, Compostela vice-mayor Josephine Abing, Cebu provincial board member Miguel Antonio Magpale and SteelAsia senior vice president Benjamin Magalong.
