Metro Manila Development Authority general manager and acting chairman Thomas Orbos and Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez (center), together with the MMDA’s clearing operations team, discussed strategy in relocating hundreds of illegal vendors and clearing the service road of Roxas Boulevard and the vicinity of Redemptorist Church in Baclaran. Orbos is offering jeepney drivers and operators to pick up passengers at the Southwest Interim Terminal in front of the Coastal Mall, at the corner of Coastal Road near President Diosdado Macapagal Avenue. Meanwhile, Olivarez disclosed the city will allocate P40 million to transfer the vendors to a proposed flea market area in a one-hectare government-owned lot at the Aseana Complex, fronting the church. He said Parañaque City will fully coordinate with MMDA on the development projects of the Duterte administration along Roxas Boulevard.
