Air Asia PH eyes more Taiwan, Macau seats

The Philippine unit of Southeast Asia’s largest budget airline is seeking more flight entitlements to Taiwan and Macau from the Civil Aeronautics Board. 

Air Asia Philippines said in a filing with the CAB it wanted the allocation of entitlements to Macau under the Philippines Air Series Agreement from Clark and Cebu. 

The airline also filed a petition for designation as official Philippine carrier and allocation of entitlements to Taiwan under the MECO-TECO agreement on the exchange of traffic rights. 

By August 1, AirAsia Philippine will be flying to  Kaohsiung, Taiwan from Clark and Cebu. The airline currently operates from Manila to Taipei. 

AirAsia Philippines also operates international flights to and from Shanghai,  Incheon (Seoul), Hong Kong, Macau, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Guangzhou, Vietnam, Shenzhen, Kaohshing, Bali, Shenzhen, Indonesia, Singapore and soon Japan.

It flies to and from Manila, Davao, Cebu, Kalibo, Caticlan (Boracay), Tacloban, Tagbilaran (Bohol), Puerto Princesa (Palawan), Clark and Iloilo in the Philippines.
