SkyJet appoints Tan as chief executive

SkyJet Airlines, the Philippines’ boutique airline, announced the appointment of Patrick Tan as the new chief executive.

Tan is an aviation veteran, with past stints as president and chief operating officer of Seair International, president and chief executive of Tiger Airways Philippines, and vice president for operations and subsequently CEO of Seair Inc. 

He was responsible for expanding Seair’s revenues from P200 million to P4 billion a year.

Tan was a trustee and vice president for external affairs of Boracay Foundation Inc., an influential business group for the conservation of the famous island destination. 

He is also currently the president of National Athletic Committee Philippines which builds up the sport of bodybuilding in the Philippines.

He serves as a consultant to the board of the Flying Medical Samaritans and is a sailing member of the Manila Yacht Club. A certified private pilot, he is also a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilot’s Association.

Tan earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from Ateneo de Manila University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Major in Marketing, from De La Salle University.

Tan, in his new position as CEO of SkyJet, will now lead the boutique airline as it seeks to grow its brand, expand its operations and build new international markets.

SkyJet Airlines flies multiple times daily and direct from Manila to Batanes, Siargao, and Coron, Palawan with its fleet of 80 and 92 seater British Aerospace Jets, the official aircraft of Queen Elizabeth and the British Royal Family.
