DITO Telecommunity Corp., a joint venture between Davao-based businessman Dennis Uy and China Telecoms, is aiming to capture 30 percent of the market within the first few years of operations after signing new partnerships with two tower companies.

“A few weeks ago, we reported that DITO Telecommunity has signed initial memorandum of agreements with SkyCable and Chavit Singson’s LCS Holdings; and we have in fact rejoiced at the groundbreaking of the first ever common tower in Ilocos Sur,” said DITO chief administrative officer Adel Tamano.

“This time we have again signed a number of agreements specifically with China Energy Equipment Co. Ltd and ZEAL Power Construction and Development Corporation, a Filipino-Malaysian Consortium that will allow us to move faster on our commitment to the Filipino people,” Tamano said.

DITO chief technology officer Retired Major General Boy Santiago said the company committed to invest more than the initial P6 billion it earmarked for the project.
