Globe Telecom Inc. said Friday it teamed up with Araneta Center to provide fast and reliable internet connectivity for free to mall goers.
“This partnership with Araneta Center will allow more customers to enjoy free WiFi services using Globe’s high-speed GoWiFi service and make their shopping—and internet surfing—truly a one-of-a-kind experience,” said Globe president and chief executive Ernest Cu.
GoWiFi as of the first half of the year was accessible in 2,500 sites nationwide, up by 500 sites from the previous year.
The company plans to double the GoWifi sites to 5,000 by next year.
“Globe Wifi is a very important concept for Globe. We also realized that we cannot serve the whole public’s appetite for mobile data just through the mobile network so it’s important to augment that,” Cu said.
“So, Globe Wifi is our way of doing that. We are now reaching 2,500 locations around the Philippines and it is our ambition to become expansive and prevalent Wifi network in the country,” he added.
GoWiFi continues its expansion plans nationwide, especially in high-traffic areas like malls, hospitals, and schools to make high-quality internet connection accessible and affordable to more Filipinos.

Castelo said GoWiFi would further allow its shoppers and visitors to enjoy online-enabled services and features suited to their needs.

GoWiFi is the country’s largest WiFi service in the country that aims to provide customers better WiFi experience with speeds of up to 100Mbps depending on the location.
