OmniPay, one of Asia’s leading providers of breakthrough card programs and payment services, teamed up with Diners Club International Inc., a part of the Discover Global Network, for the launch of the Omnipay Diners Club Forex Prepaid Card in the Philippines.
OmniPay president and chief executive Simoun Ung said in a news briefing in Taguig City they were expecting to issue around two million cards in the first year of partnership.
“This will certainly be a valuable addition to the card businesses of banks, issuers, and acquirers. As always, we are here to help these companies gain market share through well-designed and attractive card offerings,” Ung said.
Ung said the partnership with Diners would “open up more possibilities” for OmniPay.
Ung said the prepaid card is the solution for businesses that are looking to integrate travel-related benefits for their customers. It is a US dollar-based prepaid card with the capability of acting like a
loyalty and rewards card, and is internationally accepted due to the Discover Global Network, which includes Discover Network, Diners Club International, PULSE and affiliate networks.
