Far Eastern University continues its commitment to academic excellence through its program offerings, exceptional facilities and corporate governance. These are evident in distinctions recently granted by two respected organizations.

At the 2018 Asean Corporate Governance Scorecard, the university was the lone school recognized as a top-performing publicly-listed company in the Philippines. FEU was conferred two Arrow citations by the Institute of Corporate Directors at the ACGS assessment ceremony.

FEU was also recognized by the Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services as a standard for best practices in the management of student formation programs in the country. The university was lauded during the benchmarking session of a specialist certificate course on student affairs and services.

“It is an honor for us to be entrusted with these valuable awards. We continuously work toward promoting a world-class learning environment for our students and these are the fruits of our labor. This assures us that we continue to uphold the university’s core values of fortitude, excellence, and uprightness,” said FEU president Dr. Michael Alba.

These accolades are a reflection of FEU’s commitment to setting the standards for academic institutions. Since being founded in 1928, the university has firmly implemented a culture geared toward quality and accessible education.

This culture is rooted in extensive industry partnerships with more than 1,000 partners, 30 percent of which belong to the top 1,000 corporations. These tie-ups include seminars on work ethic and industry trends, curriculum review, internships and university-to-work transition programs.

At the same time, FEU fosters an inclusive environment where students are made to feel welcome. They can enjoy all-gender restrooms, “a no haircut policy”, school attire options instead of a uniform and a multi-faith room. The university also has international linkages with universities in South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia to expose students to different cultures.

FEU believes that a well-rounded education backed by an inclusive atmosphere is the key to producing competitive graduates.

Throughout its history, FEU has developed business tycoons, ambassadors and justices of the Supreme Court and other judicial bodies. Other notable alumni include leaders in the private and public sectors, finance wizards, acclaimed physicians, nurses, educators, athletes, artists and theater and media luminaries.

“We want to uphold our legacy of producing outstanding alumni and these new citations prove that we are on the right track. We will continue innovating our services to sustain our standing as one of the country’s top educational institutions,” said Alba.
